J8 is also registered with the National Futures Association in the United States as a Commodity Trading Advisor with a 4.7 exemption.

Dr. Tillmann Sachs
Chief Investment Officer, Head of Research, CEO
Dr. Tillmann Sachs is the Chief Investment Officer and Co-Founder of J8 Capital Management LLP. Prior to establishing J8 in 2012, Tillmann originated structured derivatives solutions on rule-based investment strategies at Barclays, UBS, and AIG.
Tillmann holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. In his thesis, he applied artificial intelligence to risk quantification in project finance.
Sandy Chu
Chief Operating and Finance Officer, Compliance Director
Sandy Chu is the Chief Operating and Finance Officer and Co-Founder of J8 Capital Management LLP. Sandy has over 18 years of executive management experience in the international shipping industry with Maersk Line and Team Lines Deutschland GmbH.
She holds an Investment Management Certificate from the CFA UK and a Bachelor of Business in Actuarial Science from the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.
Vishal Sharma
Head of Trading, Portfolio Manager
Vishal Sharma joined J8 in December 2020 and is appointed Head of Trading and Portfolio Manager since April 2024. Vishal has been developing and trading quantitative short-term intraday trading strategies since 2009 with Ion Asset Architecture and ARB Trading Group.
Vishal holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering form the Indian Institute of Technology in Kanpur, India.
Ian Fridlington
Chief Compliance Officer, AML/MLRO, Chief Risk Officer
Ian Fridlington joined J8 in January 2017 as risk manager and Compliance Officer.
Ian has over 35 years experience in providing investment management solutions to UK and global wealth management businesses, including CopperTree Capital Management Ltd, Veritas Asset Management (UK) Ltd and Ansbacher & Co Limited.
Ian holds an Investment Management Certificate from the CFA UK, and is an Associate of the London Institute of Banking & Finance.
Maximilian Sachs
Head of Systems
Maximilian Sachs is the Head of Systems and joined J8 in February 2023. He is also the founder of Arkmon B.V., a systematic crypto investment boutique in The Netherlands.
Maximilian holds a MSc in Management of Technologies and a BSc in Aeronautical/Space Engineering from Delft University of Technology in The Netherlands.
Prof. Dr. Robert Tiong
Research
Robert Tiong is an Associate Professor at the School of Civil & Environmental Engineering at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore.
Robert supports J8 since 2012 in research and statistical analysis.
Prof. Tiong has published extensively on project financing and financial modelling.
Gregor Gromer
IT
Gregor Gromer has over 25 years of experience in Software Development, Application Support and IT Management for the financial services industries in London and across Europe with positions at IBM and 1&1.Gregor supports J8 in its IT strategy.
Gregor holds an MBA of the Robert Kennedy College in Switzerland.
