J8 is also registered with the National Futures Association in the United States as a Commodity Trading Advisor with a 4.7 exemption.

Dr. Tillmann Sachs
CEO and Chief Investment Officer
Dr. Tillmann Sachs is the Chief Investment Officer and Co-Founder of J8 Capital Management LLP. Prior to establishing J8 in 2012, Tillmann originated structured derivatives solutions on rule-based investment strategies at Barclays, UBS, and AIG.
Tillmann holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. In his thesis, he applied artificial intelligence to risk quantification in project finance.
Nour Elmostaqim
Capital Formation
Nour Elmostaqim joined J8 in 2025 to lead capital formation and institutional fundraising initiatives. Prior roles include Capital Introduction at BNP Paribas (London), covering institutional investors for hedge fund managers. Former Investment Committee Member at BIMCOR (Montreal), focused on hedge fund and alternative manager selection.
Nour holds a MSc in Finance from HEC Montréal and BA in Mathematics from Concordia University. She also holds CFA Level II with UK Level 3 in Corporate Finance Regulation.
Prof. Dr. Robert Tiong
Research
Robert Tiong is an Associate Professor at the School of Civil & Environmental Engineering at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore.
Robert supports J8 since 2012 in research and statistical analysis.
Prof. Tiong has published extensively on project financing and financial modelling.

Sandy Chu
Chief Operating and Finance Officer
Sandy Chu is the Chief Operating and Finance Officer and Co-Founder of J8 Capital Management LLP. Sandy has over 18 years of executive management experience in the international shipping industry with Maersk Line and Team Lines Deutschland GmbH.
She holds an Investment Management Certificate from the CFA UK and a Bachelor of Business in Actuarial Science from the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.
Ian Fridlington
Compliance Officer, AML/MLRO, Risk Officer
Ian Fridlington joined J8 in January 2017 as risk manager and Compliance Officer.
Ian has over 35 years experience in providing investment management solutions to UK and global wealth management businesses, including CopperTree Capital Management Ltd, Veritas Asset Management (UK) Ltd and Ansbacher & Co Limited.
Ian holds an Investment Management Certificate from the CFA UK, and is an Associate of the London Institute of Banking & Finance.
Maximilian Sachs
Head of Systems
Maximilian Sachs is the Head of Systems and joined J8 in February 2023. He is also the CTO and Co-Founder of Arkintel, a Delft-based company building custom data and AI solutions. Arkintel is part of the YES!Delft incubator.
Maximilian holds a MSc in Management of Technologies and a BSc in Aeronautical/Space Engineering from Delft University of Technology in The Netherlands.
Gregor Gromer
IT
Gregor Gromer has over 25 years of experience in Software Development, Application Support and IT Management for the financial services industries in London and across Europe with positions at IBM and 1&1.Gregor supports J8 in its IT strategy.
Gregor holds an MBA of the Robert Kennedy College in Switzerland.
